HIV/AIDS Cure Finally FOUND, Doctors Confirm – NO MORE CONDOMS!

Doctors in Barcelona, Spain believe they have found the cure to HIV – the AIDS-causing virus that affects the lives of more than 34 million people worldwide, according to WHO.

By using blood transplants from the umbilical cords of individuals with a genetic resistance to HIV, Spanish medical professionals believe they can treat the virus, having proven the procedure successful with one patient.

A 37-year-old man from Barcelona, who had been infected with the HIV virus in 2009, was cured of the condition after receiving a transplant of blood.

While unfortunately the man later died from cancer just three years later, having developed lymphoma, the Spanish medical team is still hugely encouraged by what it considers to be a breakthrough in the fight against HIV and related conditions, according to the Spanish news source El Mundo.

Doctors in Barcelona initially attempted the technique using the precedent of Timothy Brown, an HIV patient who developed leukemia before receiving experimental treatment in Berlin, the Spanish news site The Local reported. Brown was given bone marrow from a donor who carried the resistance mutation from HIV. After the cancer treatment, the HIV virus had also disappeared.

According to The Local, the CCR5 Delta 35 mutation affects a protein in white blood cells and provides an estimated one percent of the human population with high resistance to infection from HIV.

Spanish doctors attempted to treat the lymphoma of the so-called “Barcelona patient” with chemotherapy and an auto-transplant of the cells, but were unable to find him a suitable bone marrow.

“We suggested a transplant of blood from an umbilical cord but from someone who had the mutation because we knew from ‘the Berlin patient’ that as well as [ending] the cancer, we could also eradicate HIV,” Rafael Duarte, the director of the Haematopoietic Transplant Programme at the Catalan Oncology Institute in Barcelona, told The Local.

Prior to the transplant, a patient’s blood cells are destroyed with chemotherapy before they are replaced with new cells, incorporating the mutation which means the HIV virus can no longer attach itself to them. For the Barcelona patient, stem cells from another donor were used in order to accelerate the regeneration process.

Eleven days after the transplant, the patient in Barcelona experienced recovery. Three months later, it was found that he was clear of the HIV virus.

Despite the unfortunate death of the patient from cancer, the procedure has led to the development of an ambitious project that is backed by Spain’s National Transplant Organization.

October 2016 will mark the world’s first clinical trials of umbilical cord transplants for HIV patients with blood cancers. Javier Martinez, a virologist from the research foundation Irsicaixa, stressed that the process is primarily designed to assist HIV patients suffering from cancer, but “this therapy does allow us to speculate about a cure for HIV,” he added.

Let Us See Results, Obasanjo Tells FG

Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on the Federal Government to ensure that the results of its development initiatives are felt by Nigerians.

Obasanjo, who was one of the keynote speakers at the Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Forum, which held on Saturday in Lagos, commended the government for its programmes aimed at creating jobs and diversifying the economy.

Also addressing Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Deputy Governor, Ebonyi State, Kelechi Igwe, at the event, the ex-president said there was the need to support entrepreneurs in their states to develop products that would be fit for export.

Obasanjo said, “What you say you are doing is commendable, please let us see the results. We have to ensure that doing business in Nigeria is easy. We have to make them (investors) come to Nigeria. We need to be able to register a company at a one-stop shop.”

Earlier, the Minister for Information and Tourism, Lai Mohammed, stated that the government was moving the economy from being a mono-product economy to investing in agriculture, mining and solid minerals sectors, among others.

Also addressing the 1, 000 entrepreneurs of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the Group Managing Director, Rose of Sharon Group, Folorunso Alakija, advised them to pursue their businesses with passion, adding that they should be ready to take risks.

She said, “The hallmark of any entrepreneur is the ability to take risks. You need to fight yourself, friends, competition and government in order to succeed.”

For The Cost Of An iPhone, You Can Now Buy A Wind Turbine That Can Power An Entire House For Lifetime.

Indian startup Avant Garde Innovations has developed a low-cost wind turbine that can generate 3-5 kW hours of electricity daily.

Soon after assuming office, Kerala (southern state of India) Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan kicked up a storm by publicly supporting the Athirappilly hydro electric project, which environmentalists said, if implemented, would create ecologic imbalance in the area and destroy the Athirappilly waterfalls, the largest natural waterfall sin the state.

It is not that the government is oblivious to the impact that the project could make, but it says it has no option but to leverage existing means to check the growing power crisis in Kerala, which partially depends on the private sector for electricity.

Things are no different in other states either. While Kerala has attained almost 100 per cent electrical coverage, many parts of India still remain in the dark. For a large portion of the Indian population, electricity to this day remains a distant dream.

Enter two siblings who want to make Indians energy crisis a thing of the past. The duo has developed a new solution they say will not even slightly impact the ecological balance.

Avant Garde Innovations, the startup founded by siblings Arun and Anoop George from Kerala, has come up with a low-cost wind turbine that can generate enough electricity to power an entire house for a lifetime.

The size of a ceiling fan, this wind turbine can generate 5 kWh/kW per day— with just a one-time cost of US$750. “Our goal is to eliminate energy poverty, reduce dependence on struggling state power grids and create energy self sufficiency for all the needy ones through distributed, localized and affordable renewable energy.

In doing so, we believe we can collectively usher in our world a cleaner environment, new economic prosperity and social change,” reads the company ‘What We Do’ statement. “Our first offering is a highly affordable small wind turbine suitable for residential, commercial, agricultural, village electrification and other uses, which is aimed for a market launch during 2016.”

Incorporated in 2015, Avant Garde claims to be a startup with a ‘green’ heart and soul. For the startup, opportunity is massive. India is the world’s sixth largest energy consumer, accounting for 3.4 per cent of global energy consumption. Federal governments in India, and the central government for that matter, are unable to bear the huge infrastructural cost required to bring electricity to remote villages.

Erecting electric posts and electric lines require huge investments that could cost millions of dollars. This is where Avant Garde comes into picture. “When small wind turbine generating 1kW energy costs INR 3-7 lakh (US$4,000-10,000), our company plans to sell it at less than NR 50,000 (about US$750).

Costs will decrease further through mass production,” Arun said in an interview to The Times of India. The company launched its pilot project at a church in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram in January this year.

The small wind turbine prototype that it has developed is highly scalable for power capacities of 300 kW or even higher, Arun told e27. “Our passionate aim is to introduce innovative, affordable and sustainable solutions that take renewable energy self sufficiency and energy empowerment to the next level through a distributed and decentralized approach using pioneering strategies the world has not witnessed yet,” the company says.

This revolutionary product has also won them a spot in the Top 20 Clean tech Innovations in India. The company has also made it to the list of 10 clean energy companies from India for the “UN Sustainable Energy For All” initiative under the one billion dollar clean energy investment opportunity directory.

According to the Global Wind Energy Council, the country ranks 4th in terms of global installed wind power capacity, after China, the US, and Germany. Maybe, if Avant Garde Innovations takes off, Kerala can keep the Athirappilly waterfalls untouched.

Amaechi Threatens To Expose Buhari, As Presidency Opens Investigation On Amaechi

These are not the best of times for the Minister of Transportation. The house of the presidency appears struck on a path to self implosion as reliable information available to SMA obtained through sources within the presidency indicate the President had ordered for a comprehensive investigation into the allegations leveled on the Transport Minister by numerous Justices of the Federation. And in turn, the Transport Minister is said to have threatened retaliation by exposing the President’s dirty deals over the alleged bribery allegation.

Following what appeared as serialized exposure by the Justices of the federation of the involvement of Rotimi Amaechi in the attempt to subvert the judicial process, the President of the federation, General Mohammadu Buhari fell under the immense pressure from the international community to investigate the validity in the claims leveled by the Justices. To this end, the President instructed for a probe be launched into the activities as alleged by the Judges. The Judges had alleged that Amaechi attempted to bribe them in more than one occasion.

Information available to SMA reliably confirms a probe into the claims of the Judges were launched based on the instructions of Mr. President. All of the bank accounts known to belong to Amaechi, according to our source, have been placed under watch – and the historical activity on the account sequestered.

In retaliation, the former Governor of Rivers State and the present Minister of Transport – Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has chosen to go the route of blackmail. He is said to have opted to expose all involved parties in the said attempted bribery of the justices. “Amaechi has documentary evidence that shows Buhari was in-the-know about the attempt to bribe the Judges and how many of the campaign funds were raised.”

“Amaechi has assembled the documents and has sent over to Saharareporters, with whom he has a working financial relationship to publish the documents“, stated our source who explained that Amaechi had used his relationship with Saharareporters to push the All Progressive Congress [APC] change mantra. “The relationship is still existing”.

It is expected that in the coming days or weeks that Saharareporters will begin publication of documents – that is – if the presidency continues its probe of Amaechi. But what it certain is that Amaechi has already forwarded the said documents to the publishers of Saharareporters.

Since Nigerian Judges Failed To Jail Buhari, Let Buhari Jail Them – Actor John Okafor

Nollywood Actor, John Okafor, otherwise known as Mr Ibu, has said that he is in support of President Muhammadu Buhari’s action against the Nigerian judiciary in relation to the allegations of corruption and judicial misconduct leveled against some judges.

SMA reliably recalls that the DSS, had on October 7 and 8 reportedly arrested  some Supreme Court justices, Appeal and High Court judges over corruption allegations.

The actor via his social media said his support was based on the fact that most accused judges have folded their arms and allowed injustice ,corrupt practices persist in the judicial system as a common man is unlawfully detained without being tried and accused or refused bail even when they are found guilty or not.

He said: “I will support Buhari for his action against Nigeria Judiciary. when issue of Buhari’s certificate came up, No judge was serious to prosecute Buhari, when IPOB members were killed, no judge talked about it, when Nnamdi KANU was guiltless, no judge talked about it, When Dasuki was granted Bail even in ECOWAS Court, no Judge talked about it, when Shitte Muslims were killed in Kaduna, no judge talked about it, what about the killings in Nimbo and Agatu? No judge talked about it.

“Margaret was killed in Kano while preaching, no judge talked about it, all the arrested Boko Haram members where released by Buhari, No judge talked about it.

“2015 general election? No judge talked about it.

“As Nigerian Judiciary failed to jail Buhari; let Buhari jail them, I give him my 100% Support on this one,” he added.

Bride Dumped On Honeymoon After Husband Saw Her With No-Make-up

The 35-year-old dumped by her husband on their honeymoon

A woman from Mpumalanga has been divorced by her husband on their honeymoon just a few days after their wedding.

The bridegroom dumped the woman after he saw her with no make-up for the first time according to a psychologist who counselled the unidentified woman.

The 40-year-old groom divorced his 35-year-old bride, said the doctor, because the husband believed she did not look as pretty as before the wedding and accused her of deceiving him by using so many cosmetics, including fake eyelashes.

Dr Molapo, consultant psychologist, said that his clinic received a request from the woman to help her overcome her psychological suffering after her divorce.

Reports are that the groom took his bride to Richards Bay for their honeymoon where they had a swim but the outing turned tragic when her face became wet and her makeup reportedly washed away.

The groom said he could barely recognise his wife after the make-up was gone.

The bride wore artificial eyelashes and had undergone cosmetic surgeries before the marriage. The couple who had met on Facebook had been engaged for three months.

Dr Molapo said the bride told him that she intended to tell her husband the truth about her but it was too late. “The groom immediately divorced his bride and refused any attempt to reunite them again,”he said.
